We are excited to announce that on April 7, 2023, based on National Center for Education Development and Innovation (NCEDI) professional evaluation, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MoESCS) certified STEMAR project-based education for implementation in public schools as an experiential component of STEM education. According to NCEDI evaluation, the STEMAR strategy effectively targets Armenian new educational standards.
MoESCS official recommendation states that:
- STEMAR ensures the structure of project-based learning in accordance with the Order No. 76-L of November 1st, 2022, by providing experiential STEM packages, which clearly interpret educational outcomes of the project in accordance with general education and subject-based standards, comprehensively defining the project’s problem statement, containing the necessary material and informational resources required for deriving prerequisite knowledge, aligned to various styles of self-directed and instructed learning.
- STEMAR promotes interdisciplinary learning through projects, ensuring the addressing of STEM as one interconnected field.
- STEMAR fosters learners to utilize fundamental knowledge acquired in the STEM studies in creative solutions for community-centered and student-centered problems.
- STEMAR experientially demonstrates the applicability of the STEM direction, gives impetus to the creation of a communication platform for STEM-oriented specialists and students, as a result, promotes the STEM-based professional orientation encouraged by the Ministry. In parallel, STEMAR provides students starting from school age with a perspective of professional growth through STEM education.
